Please be aware the wedge salad, always our favorite, is no longer a true wedge.......instead of using iceburg lettuce, they now use romaine, served in two small portions, which is a very poor substitute. The server should have said something. Very disappointed.

This is in between the beautiful town of Paradise Valley and its a Hidden Gem that has a rich history in the community.
Now, as for the service, I think it's great they're very attentive and try to accommodate your dietary restrictions.
Food is good, but it's not 100% authentic Mexican food, so if that's what you're looking for, something that reminds you of back home this is not it but is good, so it's worth going.
Ton of parking, and it's very handicap accessibleHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This place is stunning: absolutely stunning. I wish we would have eaten outside, but I was here with 7 coworkers.
I'm going to speak only to my dish and service: we ordered a LOT: most was pretty delicious. Tbh the sticky bun was good and weird placement: pre salad post appetizer. I got the special, sea bass. It was...fine? The fish itself tasted a little flat, the pesto on top was bright and summery: LOVE. The cauliflower on the side was poorly roasted and more wet than roasted. The couscous was the star: cheesy and bright with the sauce.
Would I go back? Not on my dime, but maybe on business? Definitely a place to impress with the mountain backdrop and cacti.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Had Valentines dinner here last night they had a preset menu.
Ambiance/setting is stunning it was dark out and the waterfalls, lights and fire pits made it feel magical.
Food, bread service is what I would refer to as monkey bread it's like a big warm cinnamon roll it was FANTASTIC next time I will request this after my meal as I prefer my sweets after my savories.
I got the French onion soup and loved it.
We bother ordered the filet and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly to complement the crispy potatoes, asparagus and beets all delicious.
I asked our server about the risotto that accompanied the salmon and he offered to bring me a side complimentary with my meal and I was so happy it was also delicious.
We tried both deserts and shared they were both yummy but the bread service would have sufficed for dessert.
Service was exceptional and Tye our server was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we got the best seats in the house and were comfortable.
Will definitely return.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Came here for a nice dinner with some friends.
After looking over the menu, we decided to start off with the crab and tuna stack to share.
The crab and tuna stack was absolutely delicious. There was a nice balance of flavors and the textures between the chips, ahi tuna, crab, and avocado worked well together.
For our main entrees, we ordered pork chop milanese, grilled filet mignon, and a side of creamy mac and cheese to share. The filet mignon itself was grilled to medium rare perfection. The scalloped potatoes were good, but a bit overly salty for our tastes. The vegetables accompanying the dish were standard.
For dessert we decided to order the sticky bun bread pudding and the cheesecake. The flavor of the sticky bun bread pudding as a whole was good, the sticky buns themselves were a bit on the dry side, different from what we were expecting. The cheesecake was standard.
Overall, service was professional and friendly, and at no point during our meal did we feel rushed at all. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, with a classic vibe indoors. The outdoor patio seating is also quite lovely with stunning views.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My son worked very hard to find a great brunch place for my big birthday with family and a friend. He chose it because of the lovely patio. Of course that Sunday it poured rain. We sat inside at a round table. It was very nice inside. The tables had tablecloth's which I think always dresses up a restaurant. The wait staff were great. The sweets served at each table were tasty.
A few of us had the tamales and egg dish. It was a great dish even the next day. The hamburger looked delucious and the huge plate of fries were perfect. We had a few bottles of champagne snd orange juice. It was a great birthday celebration.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

The food was delicious and I highly recommend the au gratin potatoes- they were my favorite by far! The complimentary cinnamon rolls are SO YUMMY!!!! Great dining experience at El Chorro. The patio is spectacular with amazing views all around. The service is great and the food was fantastic. We both tried the pigs in the blanket for an app and they were spot on. I had the short rib and I am a short rib fanatic and I have to say this was one of the best short ribs I ever had. Hubs had the broaster chicken and he said it was fantastic. Dessert was amazing. All around a wonderful time.

My friend and I had out of town guests that came in May for the weekend. We ended their trip with a wonderful Sunday Brunch on the beautiful patio of El Churro. Service and food were excellent.
We indulged with the Bubble & Juice cocktail (bottle of champagne & carafe
of orange juice) while enjoying the famous El Chorro Sticky Buns, Croissants & Scone. We ordered the Best of Both Worlds Eggs Benedict, Classic Burger and the Authentic Noble Bread French Toast. All the dishes came out perfectly and tasting great. Voted one of the best patio dining spots... and yes, it lives up to that vote.
Atmosphere: beautiful patio dining. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The Management Team at El ChorroDec 4, 2017Previous reviewI've dined here for both dinner and brunch. perfect place to entertain and get a flavor of an Arizona setting with it's beautiful outdoor patio. I had an out of town guest and before they left, I thought to make an Open Table Brunch 9:15 reservation for a party of 4. Early because my guest had a flight to catch, but I have to say it was really nice, the brunch crowd wasn't there yet so it was very peaceful and very enjoyable. The service was excellent.
Of course we had classic brunch cocktails: Bloody Marys as we munched on their delectable Cinnamon Buns and assorted pastries while looking over the menu. Entrees ordered: Banana Pancakes (toasted macadamia Nutella fondue sauce), 3 Sausage Omelette, Green Chili Pork Stew, and Best of Both Worlds Egg Benedict (one benedict of each. Jumbo lump blue crab cake, tomato salsa hollandaise, petite filet, béarnaise sauce)
All the dishes were hot, fresh, and tasted wonderful. My out of town guest had the Eggs Benedict which looked absolutely amazing and he said it tasted fantastic.
Arizona Landmark with excellent service, Food: very good... just a great place for an early brunch!Mar 20, 2017Previous reviewWe came here to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary with Brunch on a Sunday at 12:45 party of 2. When we arrived we were asked either indoor or outdoor seating. We choose the outdoors only if there was a shaded table. Take note that they have plenty of umbrellas and shades along with outdoor air conditioners
Tom our waiter introduced himself. We ordered Margaritas while perusing the menu. While we waited for our drinks to arrive the heavenly basket of their famous Sticky Buns were placed on our table and they are indeed heavenly. We ended up ordering the same dish: Huevos Rancheros (two eggs any style, chorizo. crispy tortillas. ranchero sauce. chorro beans but different style eggs) with different style eggs.
The Sticky Buns, Margaritas, and Rancheros were fantastic. My only complaint was that the wait for our entrees was very extra long, frustratingly long.
Atmosphere is wonderful, food is fantastic, service is good when the kitchen isn't backed up and at 12:45 you would assume the traditional bunch crowd is thinning out. I would highly recommend El Chorro's brunch for special get togethers.Mar 22, 2014Previous reviewCelebrated 25th wedding anniversary on a Tues. night. The restaurant was full. The patio setting was exquisite. We inform the restaurant ahead of time of our celebration, table was perfect. We started off with the El Chorro margaritas, excellent, accompanied by the "oh so famous Sticky Buns", which now I know why. Starters: we shared the Schreiners's sausage Trio, this was by far the most disappointing, a few slices of dried up sausage, was not worth the $15 at all. Entrees: we had the Seasonal Wild Salmon and Pan Roasted Duck Breast, both were excellent. We ended the meal with a complementary cake desert, which was OK. The service was excellent in the beginning, but turn into a slow service as the restaurant was clearing out. Would I dine there again? Yes, but I would try the Brunch or Happy hour in the beautiful patio.
